Acts Ministries International (AMI™) began in 2002 with a group of pastors who had a vision to restore the early church that was seen in Acts 2. We envision AMI™ to be more than a denomination or an association. It is a community of churches seeking to model the spirituality, vision, and partnership exemplified in the book of Acts. AMI™ is committed to developing disciples of Christ within our churches, as well as spreading the gospel message to unreached peoples through church planting and missions work.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO GO WITH AMI?
An AMI missions intern must be an active member of Tapestry LA Church. Active membership includes:
- Regular Sunday Worship Attendance
- Regular Cell Group Attendance
- Completion of “Experiencing God” Discipleship
If you are a college student: Only the first 3 characteristics apply, but you must have attended Tapestry for one year. Also, please add Tapestry's college pastor as one of your references in this application.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL INTERNSHIP LOOK LIKE?
Each internship varies according to the location, but primarily each intern will support the team of long-term missionaries by engaging in evangelism and discipleship by nurturing meaningful relationships with non-Christians. Each intern may also be asked to lead in areas such as small group, English Corner, worship, and/or campus fellowship. The key is flexibility and obedience to follow where God is leading. AMI believes in allowing each person to operate in their God-given giftings and passions, but there also needs to be a willingness to try new things.
Each intern will also have an advocate at home who will send updates on the intern’s behalf. The advocate will also remind of supporters of prayer requests and important dates that will relay how they are also partnering in God’s kingdom work.
IS THIS A PAID INTERNSHIP?
No. You must raise your own funds, but the Missions Advocacy Team (MAT) will provide a structure for doing so.The church will also help with the fundraising.
WHEN ARE INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE AND WHEN ARE THE DEADLINES?
You may apply any time, but interns typically depart after AMI Institute concludes each year, around mid-August. However, it is best to apply 6 months before your projected departure date to allow for time to prepare.
HOW DO I APPLY?
The staff will respond to you shortly. In the meantime, build a core prayer team that will support you while during the entire journey of the internship.
