While I was thinking about the topic of community, the one aspect that I was dwelling on most was diversity. Diversity in age, walks of life, careers and race. We come from different places, different lifestyles, different walks with God, but the one thing uniting us is the cross. I thought about how in order for a community to function, we must put the cross first. We must also realize that it is because we are all different that we are all led to the same community as each of us will have a different role in serving our community. Each of us are like a different, but functional and important organ in one body.
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others.”
